Advanced Writing Workshop

A group of our Year 6 children were invited to an advanced writing workshop at Whitmore High School along with many other Year 6 children from schools in Harrow. Together, we analysed extracts from Gothic texts looking closely at how they added a sense of evilness, mystery and darkness to the text. We explored language by looking closely at vocabulary, imagery, punctuation and spine-chilling sentences! We even learnt some new words such as caesura and enjambment! Overall, we really enjoyed this experience and it gave us a wonderful taste of Year 7 English lessons.
