Music in Roxeth
It’s always lovely to hear children and staff tell me how singing assemblies brighten their Monday mornings! It’s a great start to the week. We have explored songs connected with the school’s monthly values of determination, thoughtfulnes and appreciation.
Well done to our instrumental players who participated in Guitar Fest and String Fest at Harrow Arts Centre, joining several other schools in Harrow for fantastic evening performances. Thank you to Mrs King for help with organising and supporting the all-day rehearsals. Thanks also to Mr Byrne for transportation to and from the venue.
Year 5 and 6 choirs have had the opportunity to benefit from a singing workshop with a professional singer from Harrow Music Service. A number of these children will also take part in Summer Song Fest, Monday 10 June. To celebrate International Day, our year 5 and 6 choirs contributed with a song called ‘Amani Utupe (Grant us Peace, Give us Courage)’.
Bravo to year 4 and their singing in Plastic Pirates. We had a few practices with the songs as a choir and I was really impressed with how they have developed their sense of timing and rhythm. We look forward to the Summer Music Extravaganza on Monday 8 July! Timings to be confirmed.
